Built for homeowners, not for door-knockers
Storm Roof Radar exists because we thought homeowners deserved honest storm information — not a pitch from someone who just rolled into your neighborhood after a hailstorm.
After every big storm, the chasers arrive
A major hailstorm hits your area and within 48 hours, trucks from out-of-state roofing crews are parked up and down your street. They knock on your door, tell you your roof is definitely damaged, and push you to sign a contract before you've had a chance to think — often with a promise to "waive" your deductible to sweeten the deal.
That deductible waiver offer is illegal in most states. It's a form of insurance fraud. And the roofers behind it frequently do substandard work and disappear before your next storm.
Homeowners deserve better than a high-pressure pitch on their doorstep. They deserve the facts — in plain English, on their own schedule, from a source that isn't trying to sell them something.
Real radar data. One trusted local pro.
We pull NOAA's MESH radar estimate — the same underlying storm data meteorologists and insurance adjusters use — for your exact address. We tell you whether a recent hail event reached claimable levels, and we give you an honest read on what that means.
If the data suggests it's worth a closer look, we connect you with a single vetted, licensed local roofing contractor — one who actually knows your market, stands behind their work, and will document real damage honestly.
Not three contractors competing for your signature. Not a lead-broker reselling your information to a dozen companies. One pro. Exclusive. Free inspection. No obligation.
What we will always do — and never do
🚫 What we will never do
- Claim a contractor can waive, rebate, or absorb your deductible — that's fraud
- Resell your contact information to multiple contractors or lead brokers
- Exaggerate radar estimates to push you toward an inspection you don't need
- Send unsolicited door-knockers to your home
- Pressure you to sign anything or make any decision on the spot
✓ What we always do
- Use real NOAA radar data — the same data insurers rely on
- Tell you when the estimate is inconclusive, not just when it's bad news
- Send your info to exactly one local roofer, exclusively
- Vet contractors for licensure and local standing before connecting them with homeowners
- Keep the address check and the inspection free, with zero obligation
The science behind the radar check
We didn't build our own radar model. We use NOAA's — and that matters.
National radar coverage
The NOAA dual-polarization radar network covers the contiguous United States with overlapping coverage. It's the backbone of every weather alert you've ever received.
Maximum Estimated Size of Hail
MESH translates radar reflectivity into a per-pixel estimate of peak hail diameter. Insurance adjusters, catastrophe modelers, and storm researchers all use MESH-based products.
We tell you what we don't know
Radar can miss small, localized hail cells. A MESH estimate is not a confirmation of physical damage. We say so, plainly, every time — because your decision should be based on the full picture.
⚖️ A note on deductibles and insurance
No contractor we work with will offer to waive, rebate, or absorb your insurance deductible. This practice is illegal under insurance fraud statutes in most U.S. states. Legitimate storm-damage repairs are billed honestly against your claim. If you encounter any contractor — from our platform or anywhere else — making that offer, report it to your state insurance commissioner.
