How it works

Three steps from "was I hit?" to answered

No door-knockers. No guesswork. Real NOAA storm data, plain-English results, and one free local inspection if you want one.

Step 01

We scan NOAA's radar over your exact roof

You enter your address — that's it. Our system pulls NOAA's MESH (Maximum Estimated Size of Hail) estimate for that specific GPS point, covering any storm event in the past several months.

MESH is a radar-derived measurement meteorologists use to estimate the largest hail that likely fell at a location. It's the same underlying data insurers and storm-damage analysts rely on when evaluating claims — not a proprietary black box.

What we're actually checking
  • NOAA WSR-88D dual-pol radar network (national coverage)
  • MESH grid: estimated hail size, storm date, storm path
  • Your address geocoded to a precise lat/long point
  • Peak estimated hail size over that point, per storm event
How to read your result
HIGH RISK1.5″+ estimated — strong radar signal; inspection almost always warranted
MODERATE1.0″–1.4″ — at or near typical claimable threshold; inspection is worth it
LOW / NONEUnder 1″ or no MESH record — less likely, but inspect if you see visible signs
Step 02

Read your risk result honestly

We give you the radar's best estimate — not a sales pitch. Our results tell you the approximate hail size, the storm date, and whether that size is likely above a claimable threshold. We also tell you what we don't know.

Important: this is an estimate, not a guarantee

Radar can miss small localized hail cells, and a positive MESH reading doesn't guarantee your specific shingles are damaged. Only a licensed roofer physically on your roof can confirm real damage. That's exactly what Step 3 is for — and it's free.

Step 03

One vetted local roofer does a free inspection

If your risk result is moderate or high — or even if you want peace of mind — we connect you with a single licensed local roofing contractor who serves your area.

They come to your property, walk your roof, look for denting, granule loss, cracked shingles, and damaged flashing, and document everything with photos. If there's real damage, you have what your insurer needs. If there isn't, you know you're clear.

  • Licensed, vetted — not an out-of-state storm chaser
  • 100% free, no obligation to hire or sign anything
  • Your info goes to one contractor — never resold
  • Inspection documentation ready for your insurer
One thing we'll never tell you

No contractor in our network will offer to "waive," "eat," or "rebate" your insurance deductible. That's illegal in most states — it's called insurance fraud — and any roofer who makes that offer is a red flag, not a deal.

Our roofers document real damage and bill your claim honestly. That's it. Straight facts, straight billing.

Questions

Common questions about the process

How accurate is the NOAA MESH radar estimate?+
MESH (Maximum Estimated Size of Hail) is a radar-derived model used by meteorologists and insurers to estimate peak hail size at a specific point. It's a strong indicator — not a guarantee. Localized cells can produce hail a radar missed, and radar may flag hail that glanced the edge of your roof without denting anything. The free on-site inspection confirms actual physical damage.
What hail size is usually large enough to file an insurance claim?+
Most insurers and adjusters set a threshold around 1" (quarter-size) or larger before treating a claim as likely viable, though this varies by insurer, roof age, and material. Our risk result tells you what size was estimated over your address and whether that threshold was reached. Your adjuster makes the final call.
What happens during the free inspection?+
A licensed local roofing contractor visits your property, inspects the roof surface for denting, granule loss, cracked shingles, and damaged flashing, and documents findings with photos. That documentation is what your insurer needs for a legitimate claim. There's no charge, no obligation, and no pressure to sign anything that day.
Why only one roofer — not several to compare quotes?+
We're not a multi-quote platform. Our goal is to get you ONE trusted, licensed local pro who can document real damage honestly — not a bidding war that pushes roofers to oversell damage. If no claim is warranted, a good roofer will tell you that, too. You're always free to get additional opinions on your own.
